Jarrah Thompson seamlessly fuses flute rock, blues, roots, folk and latin, moving effortlessly between guitar lickin’ garage rock to fingerpickin’ melodic folk.
2008 saw the unveiling of his explosive nine piece blues/rock band. The group awed audiences all over Victoria. When Jarrah Thompson began to play there were twenty people at his stage, by the end of the set more than two thousand people had come over to hear a flute vs. guitar battle with the intensity and musicality of a Mozart piece!
Jarrah Thompson has been playing music for as long as he can remember, striking his first chord at six years of age, he went on as a teenager to study Music Performance and returning to Melbourne in 2001 saw the birth of rock band ‘147k’ with the guidance of Australian Hall of Fame Inductee, Lobby Loyde.
Drawing inspiration from early Santana, Joe Walsh, Jimi Hendrix and Jethro Tull, Jarrah Thompson’s live performances exude a raw energy reminiscent of the great rock festivals of late 60’s.
