The Blues Train - Shake Rattle 'n' Roll

The Artists

Luke Watt
Luke Watt, a songwriter/guitarist from the Victorian coastal town of Warrnambool, was introduced to the recordings of blues legends such as Robert Johnson and Mississippi John Hurt at an early age. Luke has since turned an appreciation of acoustic roots music into a passion.

Luke's sound is hard to pigeonhole. His songwriting is personal and emotive, and often draws on uniquely Australian stories conveyed with an emphasis on melody. Combine this with a dynamic and percussive guitar style (delivered solo or with the aid of a drummer) and the result is a young musician with a force of presence few his age have achieved.

Recent gigs include Queenscliff Music Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival and support slots for Jeff Lang, Derrin Nauendorf, Carus and Epicure.

'Watt continues to prove himself as an artist on the verge of a big career in the world of roots music.'
Matt Neal, Warrnambool Standard
