Local music journalist competes for national award

Local aspiring music jounalist Tex Miller is competing in the Optus Sound Scribe competition...

Tex MillerTOptus Sound Scribehe Blues Train being the close knit family it is, wishes local aspiring music jounalist Tex Miller all the best as he takes part in the Optus Sound Scribe competition.

At just 19 years old, Tex is competing against 39 other talented and aspiring music journalists to become the inaugral Optus Sound Scribe of the Year for 2010.

Each competitor has their own music blog which they update regularly with reviews, experiences and all things music. 

After seeing the movie, Almost Famous, Tex knew he wanted to be a music journalist and has since been involved with the music industry at a local grassroots level for a number of years. Tex has been involved for many years with the Queenscliff Music Festival, as well as composing and playing music and writing for Geelong music magazine Forte.

After a hotly contested final at The GH - Greyhound Hotel, St Kilda on Sunday 23rd October, Dream Boogie won the ‘PBS 106.7 FM Blues Performer of the Year’ contest and will be going to Memphis to compete at the International Blues Challenge in February 2012.
The Blues Train is a licensed event. You must be 18 or over to ride the Blues Train
