WHY A STAGED RELEASE

Twelve months ago we undertook a review of how we could improve ticketing for The Blues Train. We found that the existing process for placing tickets on sale was restrictive to the very people we wanted to experience the show.

One of our big aims has been to improve the benefits of being a subscriber to The Blues Train, and enable those that are repeat customers (there are a lot of you out there) the opportunity to purchase ahead of the rest.

We also recognised that people wishing to make larger bookings, whether it be for a milestone celebration, reunion with friends or work do, found it difficult to secure their tickets when all tickets were released in one go.

The end result was a three-stage onsale, that we think caters for all our patrons needs.

STAGE ONE - Group Bookings (20 or more tickets)
Groups of 52 or more (one carriage or more) are given the opportunity to book their carriage first. This enables us to better place these groups to provide least disruption to other patrons (ie. so a large group celebration is contained rather than spread across the whole train) and provide a better experience for all their guests. Carriage A is set aside for these types of bookings.

STAGE TWO - Subscriber Pre-sale
This stage enables all subscribers to The Blues Train website the opportunity to purchase tickets regardless of size. It is split into three purchase avenues:

Groups of 20 or more tickets - Groups of this size contact the Ticketek Groups Department via phone. The friendly staff at Ticketek will then guide them through the purchase process. Carriage A is set aside for these types of bookings (subject to availability).

Groups of 11 or more tickets - Groups of this size contact the Ticketek Groups Department via phone. The friendly staff at Ticketek will then guide them through the purchase process.

Up to 10 tickets
- Subscribers receive an email with a link to purchase up to 10 tickets online.
Carriage C & D are generally available during this pre-sale.

nb. holders of Gift Vouchers are unable to redeem their vouchers for tickets during these pre-sale periods, we know this makes it difficult for some patrons, and will continue to look at ways we can include them in the future, however as it stands it's not possible at this time.

STAGE THREE - General Release
All remaining tickets are placed on sale at this time (we are required to hold one carriage - B - for this on-sale as per Ticketek's guidlines for pre-sales).
