The (never sit still) Atomic Hi-Tones.
Late starter, never say never and in a moment of Do it Now – Cliff Jolly, kicked off the Atomic Hi-Tones’ journey, but together with the other guys in the band, Mark Woolrich, Artie Shugg, Simon Vancam plus a few others who hop in when family weddings hijack members, the are the Atomic Hi-Tones’ story. There’s plenty of juicy bones for a book with this lot of music machines.
So, what’s this band been up to for 24 years? Buckle up………
Just performed in every Australian state and New Zealand, headlined Hot Rod events, rocked music festivals across Australia, supported international acts, won awards and entertained at pubs, clubs, weddings, birthdays, flower shows, and even bikie clubs. That’s a lot of plane tickets, kilometres, flat tires, kangaroo-dodging, and one wild moment when the trailer brakes caught fire, sending 3-metre flames in the air while crossing Melbourne’s Bolte Bridge.
Burger with the lot?
Officially, the Atomic Hi-Tones is a rockabilly band. Unofficially, they’re a musical cocktail, blending whatever the gig demands. Some crowds want it heavy, others light, and some just want to dance. Live performance is the bands passion, and they tailor every show to please. These guys love what they do, and it shows.
Boys never grow up—they just want to have fun!
Any fries with that?
There’s never a dull moment. On a rare night off, the band members are busy with other projects—country, pub rock, rock’n’roll, even sound production for events.
Thinking of starting a band – Just do it
