A chance meeting at an open blues jam in 2023 led to this unique friendship and ferocious collaboration.
Known as Back Alley Sally, this blues duo features two awarded musicians, both bona fide veterans in the blues and wider music scene.
Featuring on blues harmonica, Julie Noble was selected to represent Australia as one-half of the venerable Miss Whiskey duo in the International Blues Competition held in Memphis, Tennessee. Delivering decades of international experience as both instructor and performer, she breathes hurricanes, breaking reeds and hearts with her red hot, inimitable style.

On vocals and guitar is Benji Miu, F.AGE (hon.). Multi-instrumentalist Benji was a former Frankston Young Guitarist of the Year and has performed extensively internationally across Asia, Europe, Canada and the Middle East. Having crisscrossed Australia several dozens of times, when he is not on stage he produces music for Warner Bros. Discovery and holds an honorary Masters Degree in contemporary music.
Appearing as a new duo they are already emerging in high demand, securing Blues festival slots such as Gellibrand River Blues Fest, appearing at Hume Blues Club, Queenscliff’s celebrated Blues Train and twice supporting legendary bluesman Geoff Achison.

Do not sleep on this duo because if you love the blues, you will love discovering Back Alley Sally.
