Drawing comparisons to Joan Jett and The White Stripes, Ingrid and the Ministers are the candid blues-rock band emerging from the underground of New Zealand’s capital and, more recently, Melbourne. The band achieves a rare balance of vigorous raw emotion and humble greatness with riveting guitar solos and headbanging grooves. Ingrid’s songwriting, guitar and singing pilots the band down pathways of expansive creative energy and electrifying live performances.
Last year the band released their sophomore album, ‘Boofhead’, garnering praise from Rolling Stone magazine and 13th floor, Marty Duda naming it “one of the best NZ albums of the year”. The track ‘Porcelain God’ was also featured in an episode of the ‘Brokenwood Mysteries’ on TVNZ.
