Travis Bowlin was born into a family of true music lovers, not players, but real listeners. From Rock ‘n Roll to Southern Gospel, Motown to Country, he listened to a wide range of Roots music…giving him the foundation for his powerful soul, rocky, but smooth blues voice. He grew up with struggles like most people do…knowing heartache & happiness, and those are the words that come out in his music.
Travis began singing at age eleven when a schoolteacher offered him an audition for the Cincinnati Boys Choir that performed gospel and choir style music. Being part of this choir gave Travis many opportunities to perform at other venues such as Cincinnati Music Hall, Riverfront Stadium (Cincinnati Reds), and dozens of others. A few years later, Travis got his first guitar from his grandmother and he began writing original songs.
During high school, Travis performed and traveled with his school’s Band and Choir where he had the opportunity to sing solo at Disney World, The Indianapolis 500, Cedar Point (winning outstanding vocals/performance), and many other venues. After high school, he spent a lot of time playing music in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana while writing songs, recording, honing in on his skills, and doing whatever he could to gain exposure through the media.
In 2012, Travis made the move to Music City U.S.A., settling right outside of Nashville, Tennessee where he has been earning his stripes in the music business by gaining contacts, respect, popularity, and building his catalog of original songs. In 2014 Travis began recording his debut album at 16th Edge Studios in Nashville, TN; produced by Nolan Neal.
On March 1, 2014, Travis released his first studio single, “Bad, Bad Man”; receiving radio air play on over 50 stations worldwide and performing it on Nashville’s NBC News & publications. Just a few months later in June, Travis had his national TV debut performing his original song “Traveling Man” on the TLC hit show “19 Kids & Counting” during the “A Duggar Leaves Home” special starring Amy Duggar.
With hundreds of performances under his belt over the last 15 years, Travis Bowlin is looking forward to his promising future and the release of his upcoming debut album followed by a tour. He was recently featured in National Rock n Roll industries magazine (Based in Los Angeles, CA) and is a newly endorsement artist by Dean Guitars.
