Getting There & Back

Where can I park my vehicle?

The Queenscliff Railway Station is located at 20 Symonds Street, Queenscliff at the intersection of Hesse Street (bottom of the main street).

There is ample parking in the grass area opposite the railway station adjacent to the brick community building.

Our Security staff will direct traffic as required upon arrival.

Disabled pick up and drop off is outside the main gate. Security staff will assist regarding parking location and any specific needs.

All vehicles are parked at the vehicle owners risk.

Coach and bus parking is available at the boat ramp after drop off.

How do we get to The Blues Train?

The Blues Train departs and returns to the Queenscliff Railway Station located on the corner of Hesse and Symonds Street, Queenscliff.

GETTING TO THE EVENT ON THE NIGHT

It’s a very good idea to catch a taxi home after your night on the Blues Train. Due to high demand, you should definitely book ahead and reconfirm your booking. If you’re coming with a large group of friends you should consider booking a bus. The following local businesses offer tour bus charter services for groups of all sizes.

Getting to Queenscliff on public transport

If you want to take public transport, you can catch a train to Geelong and then a connecting bus from Geelong to Queenscliff. You’ll need to make arrangements to stay overnight in Queenscliff or nearby as services don’t run late enough for you to get all the way back to Melbourne on public transport after the event.

Take a train

VLine operates rail services from Melbourne and regional Victoria to Geelong. A connecting bus service to Queenscliff is then required. Timetable and ticket information are available from V/Line.

GETTING TO QUEENSCLIFF BY CAR

Queenscliff is a 90-minute drive from Melbourne. Here’s how you go:

  • if you’re coming from the city, the east or the southeast, make your way to the Westgate Freeway
  • if you’re coming from the west or the north, take the Western Ring Road heading west
  • then take the Princes Freeway to Geelong
  • stay on the main road in Geelong and you’ll see signs for Queenscliff, which will take you along the Bellarine Highway
  • alternatively, from Geelong you can take the Geelong-Portarlington Road.

Travelling from interstate? Rental car agencies can be found at airports and city centres.

 

GETTING TO QUEENSCLIFF BY FERRY

The car and passenger ferry from Sorrento is the best way to get to Queenscliff from the Mornington Peninsula. Ferries depart every hour on the hour from each side between 7am and 6pm and the journey takes 40 minutes.

Costs vary according to the type of vehicle and number of passengers.

Once you arrive in Queenscliff, it’s a short 10-minute walk from the ferry terminal to the Queenscliff train station. If walking is not an option, prebook a taxi or charter bus.

GETTING TO QUEENSCLIFF BY AIR

Getting to Queenscliff from interstate is an easy task with two major airports located within one and a half hours of town.

Avalon Aiport, located 45 minutes from Queenscliff is serviced by Jetstar and Tiger Airways.

Melbourne International Airport, serviced by all major airlines, is a 90-minute drive from Queenscliff via the Western Ring Road, Princes Freeway and Bellarine Highway.

Shuttle bus services and car rentals are available from both airports.
