MISS WHISKEY is a Melbourne-based blues duo putting their raw and original stamp on blues music. Formed in 2014 as an avenue to focus on the music they love, they are quickly making their mark on the blues scene. Winning the 2015 MBAS Blues Challenge in the Solo/Duo category, they hit the stage at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2016. With Anna Scionti on guitar and vocals and Julie Noble on harmonica, this gritty female duo mix up their own original music with classic blues standards from the greats like Junior Wells, Slim Harpo and Big Mama Thornton.
It would be a generalisation to group 23 year old Alister Turrill with other young roots players. His playing style blends a true form of blues with complex song writing seldom seen in someone so young.
Bruce Hurricane Hearn (from the iconic Melbourne alternative band Strange Tenants with a back catalogue of 7 albums) is a seasoned top professional musician, having toured and performed with international acts including U2, Paul Weller’s Style Council, UB40 and in London with Jimmy Cliff.
