Next appearances on The Blues Train:

Mention the name Jimi Hocking and festival-goers will know him from major folk and blues events. Mention the name Jimi the Human, and rock music fans will recognise him from Spectre 7, the Angels and the Screaming Jets.

He has opened for, and toured with, many major artists, including Joe Satriani, George Thorogood, Edgar Winter, Robben Ford and he even played a little blues to BB King himself … who declared, ‘I been watching you, you’re real good.’

Now known to many as an electric blues stylist, Jimi still regularly performs his material in an acoustic setting, both in Australia and on the NYC anti-folk and blues scene. Known for his hilarious preambles, Jimi performs a mixture of thought-provoking and ‘tongue in cheek’ original material that spans a ten-album career.

In 2005, Jimi won the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennesee, following his winning the title of Blues Performer of the Year, awarded by Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society in October 2004.
