The New Savages play Melbourne Hill Country Blues.
Often described as a uniquely droning and dark mix of Jim Morrison singing at a hoe down Juke Joint, The New Savages’ at their foundation are Milan Milutinovic’s primitive guitar style & deep baritone voice, driven by Nathan Power’s relentless swinging drums.
2015 was a raging start for The New Savages with over 60 gigs, two tours, and the sold-out release of their debut EP In My Time of Dyin’. This record garnered airplay on Triple J, Double J, Triple M, ABC and community radio stations across the country, selling out its first release.
2016 continues the duo’s success, clocking in over 100 shows, and a stream of festival appearances including St Kilda Festival, Ballarat Beer Festival, Bendigo Blues and Roots and Bealiba Blues Festival. In February 2016 The New Savages curated, managed and performed on the Blues Speakeasy Stage at White Night Melbourne, placing 10 of Melbourne’s finest blues acts on an outdoor stage from 7 pm – 7 am for 12 hours of blues. June 2016 sees The New Savages launching their second EP ‘Goin’ Over The River’ with a 25-date national tour taking in VIC, NSW, ACT, QLD, SA and TAS.
