Oscar LaDell is a 23-year-old Roots singer, songwriter and guitarist who brings a timeless vulnerability to his original blend of Blues, Soul & Folk. Hailing originally from Denver Colorado, LaDell grew up in Purakaunui in the South of Aotearoa. Drawing from the moody and poignant scenes of his home, LaDell writes, plays and sings with an incisiveness and depth that bely his young age. Inevitable comparisons to artists such as Hozier, Leon Bridges and Michael Kiwanuka come to mind. However, LaDell’s personal approach and eclectic influences contribute to a sound that is at once authentic and unique.
Oscar is now based in Melbourne, Australia and has many exciting projects and shows slated for the upcoming year.
